The whole point
ProtectYour Peace
Two words that started as a joke on a shirt and turned out to be the only advice we actually have.
Protecting your peace is not about being above it all. Nobody is above it. It finds everybody.
It is about noticing when something is not yours to carry, and putting it down.
That is genuinely the whole idea. There is no system, no course, no five step framework. Most of the drama that ruins a week belongs to somebody else and got handed to you at a moment when you were too polite to say no. The skill is spotting that in the moment instead of three days later at two in the morning.
The house rules
Seven things worth remembering.
None of these are original and none of them are hard. They are just easy to forget at the exact moment they would help.
Not every message needs a reply today.
Almost nothing is as urgent as the notification makes it look. A day is usually fine. Two days is usually fine.
You are allowed to not have an opinion.
"I have not thought about it" is a complete answer. So is "I am not going to weigh in on this one."
You do not have to attend every argument you are invited to.
Somebody handing you a fight does not mean you have to take it. You can simply not pick it up.
Being informed is not the same as being involved.
You can know exactly what happened and still have nothing to do with it. Those are different jobs.
Walking away is maintenance, not rudeness.
Leaving a conversation, a thread or a room early is a thing adults are allowed to do. No announcement required.
Nobody is owed access to you at all hours.
Silence is not a message. It is just silence. People who care about you will survive it.
The people who call it dramatic are usually the ones supplying it.
Worth noticing who tells you that you are overreacting, and how often they are nearby when things go wrong.

Put it on your lock screen.
A phone wallpaper, sized for every common screen. It will be the first thing you see next time the group chat lights up at eleven at night, which is roughly the point.
One email with the file. You can leave the list straight after and we will not take it personally.
The quiet end of the catalog
Wear it if you want to.
Where we stop
We sell shirts and tell jokes.
Everything above is about the ordinary stuff. Group chats, coworkers, the neighbor with the fence opinion. If what you are carrying is heavier than that, none of it is the right tool, and the people below are considerably better at this than a mug is.
